The mailing says on June 17th, 42 residents of the Boipatong Township were brutally murdered in their beds; many more were injured; survivors say their attackers were members of the Inkatha Freedom Party and a covert military unit with assistance from South African Police. The leaflet says the African National Congress has accused the government of masterminding the other incidents of township violence in order to undermine the ANC and the transition to non-racial democracy; Nelson Mandela has called upon the South African government to end the violence and to bring the perpetrators to justice; the ANC has suspended constitutional talks until the government of South Africa ends the violence. The leaflet asks people to send letters demanding an international commission of inquiry into the Boipatong massacre and all township violence to President DeKerk.
