Draft brochure advertising the third Anniversary Benefit Reception of the Illinois Labor Network Against Apartheid (ILNAA) on November 30, 1990 at the Midland Hotel in Chicago. The freeing of South Africa from the scourge of apartheid and the cheap labor system upon which it is based is within reach. South Africa's unions have played an enormous role in the freedom struggle. Their unity, organizing skill and vision have inspired many of us. Brothers and sisters in South Africa face odds that seem insurmountable. Yet, while confronting the horrors of apartheid's working and living conditions, they have built a democratic and dynamic trade union movement. ILNAA is a coalition of union affiliates working in solidarity with South African unions. Funds raised from the reception will go toward the Network's educational efforts, and its action program, "Solidarity, Sanctions and the Shell Oil Boycott" and also toward ending an ILNAA delegation to South Africa. The draft brochure mentions Senator Paul Simon and Representatives Charles A. Hayes and Lane Evans.
