The mailing says Alexandra residents have long been in the center of the struggle for democracy in South Africa, and for better living and working conditions; they deserve our wholehearted support in their efforts to overcome apartheid and its cheap labor system; the Sister Community Project will strengthen the democratic community structures that have emerged along side the democratic trade unions in South Africa. The mailing says the Illinois Labor Network Against Apartheid, of which I am a Chairperson, endorsed the Sister Community Project, testified at the hearing, and participated in a telephone hookup to Moses Mayekiso at City Hall.
