The press release says Ngubo has been working for passage of Comprehensive Sanctions in the U.S. Congress and for a cutoff of oil to South Africa; sanctions are strongly supported by South Africa's trade unions and other black organizations in South Africa. The press release says in Chicago Ngubo is pushing for passage by the Chicago City Council of a Selective Purchasing Ordinance to prohibit the purchase of fuel by the City from those companies that do business with South Africa.
