In 2001 WOA launched a Millennia1 Campaign for Africa under three rubrics, economic justice, peace and reconciliation, and health and human welfare. Advocacy issues included Sudan, AIDS including access to medications, debt cancellation, implementation of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), support for the OAU initiative to support local communities and small farmers, conflict diamonds, ratification of the child soldiers protocol and development assistance.
