Mailing to members of the Steering Committee of the Illinois Labor Network Against Apartheid. The mailing says on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. we will hold an educational program for the Steering Committee at ACTWU; the program will be chaired by Prof. William J. Adelman; Harold Rogers and Nomonde Ngubo; there will be primarily a discussion format, to help us be prepared for making presentations to local unions during the coming year. The mailing says we are also sponsoring a Solidarity Rally featuring Nomonde speaking and singing on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2 p.m., hosted by UAW Local 551; you've been sent a separate mailing on the Rally, which is our only public event we've planned until June. The mailing says mark your calendar now for out next regular Steering Committee meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 23 when we will have an initial discussion about the possibilities of our sending a rep(s) to SA in 1990. The mailing says I look forward to the coming year; there are great signs of hope and now us an especially meaningful time to stand up and be counted. The mailing says we welcome OCAW International Rep. William Howard and AFSCME International Area Director Tish Taylor to the Steering Committee. The mailing says a special thanks to Rose Daylie and to Cole Wright for your help on the union education program and to UMWA for bringing us Nomonde Ngubo.
