Leaflet advertising a benefit on April 30, 1994 at the Berkeley Store Gallery Annex to celebrate the first democratic elections in South Africa. The city of Berkeley was the first in the United States to divest itself of direct and indirect financial links to South Africa. In 1988, Berkeley also became the first U.S. city to establish a formal linkage to a black township in South Africa - Oukasie. The event is sponsored by Black Oak Books; Berkeley Store Gallery; International House, University of California Berkeley (UCB); and Berkeley-Oukasie Sister Community Project.
