Press release announcing establishment of a 16-person Free South Africa Movement Demonstrations Steering Committee in Boston. Since November 21, 1984, TransAfrica, the Black American Lobby for Africa and the Caribbean, has conducted a series of highly visible demonstrations against the apartheid regime in South Africa. In Boston, demonstrations have focused on South Africa's “honorary consul" Richard K. Blankstein and the largest dealer of Krugerrand’s in the Boston area, Deak-Perera.
