San Francisco, California, United States
Undated, late 1978, maybe late November or early December?
2 pages
The postcard says an unprecedented event for the anti-apartheid movement happened November 17: in the name of $top Bbanking on Apartheid ($BOA), 1,900 people protested Bank of America's support of apartheid at 400 BofA branches throughout California. A quarter of a million customers were reached; several hundred immediately responded by withdrawing their accounts. The postcard says $BOA had to borrow $2,980 to pay for leaflets and distribution cost; this is an urgent appeal for help. The postcard mentions Wells Fargo, Security Pacific, Chartered Bank of London, Sumitomo, and United California.
