Leaflet advertising a rally at White Plaza on May 10. The leaflet says 200 students were arrested last night for peacefully protesting Stanford's investments in apartheid South Africa. More than 500 people maintained an all-night vigil in support of those arrested. The arrests, ordered by the Stanford administration, are an attack on the rights of all students to organize and affect the decisions made by the university. Sponsors of the rally are SCRIPT (Stanford Committee for a Responsible Investment Policy), SCAR, BSU (Black Student Union), MECHA, GPU, and others. [Note: SCAR may be the Student Coalition Against Racism.]
