These include Communications Workers of America, Illinois; United Auto Workers, Local Union Publications Conference, Black Lake, Michigan; United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 719 Worker Education program; United Steelworkers District 31 health and safety conference; Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) 20th Annual Convention; American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 31; UAW International Affairs, Washington, D.C.; UE Local 190; Illinois Nurses Association/District 21; Cook County Hospital, House Staff Union; visit to Rockford - press conference, visit to Congressman Cox's office, Illinois Aviation Center and reception; AFSCME Council 31 - meeting of Chicago locals; Black Nurses Association; Third Baptist Church; Visit to Springfield - cable TV interview at Sangamon State University, AFL-CIO reception, breakfast with state legislative black caucus, and UAW CAP and Civil Rights Conference; Visit to Bloomington/Normal - press conference, visit to public housing, UAW plant; ILNAA Steering Committee; and Salsedo Press/cooperative. Also, meetings are arranged with community and activist groups including: Voice of the People, Midwest Center for Labor Research, Kupona Network, Organization of the North East, and the Eugene Debs/Norman Thomas/Michael Harrington Dinner, NAACP Dinner and Amnesty Benefit. The report says ILNAA co-sponsored the Welcoming Reception and the Soweto Day Walkathon, and sent representatives to meetings arranged by the Alexandra/Chicago Sister Community Project.
