The picket line is aimed at Shell as well as garnering more support near U of C, which has never divested its holding in companies doing business with apartheid. In South Africa, the Defiance Campaign continues to desegregate apartheid facilities, such as hospitals, workplaces and beaches, forcing President F.W. de Klerk's hand. The unions and anti-apartheid movement in South Africa ask U.S. to turn up the heat on Shell and other international corporations to withdraw from South Africa.
