Delegates present were Carole Collins (Chairperson-CLSA staff person and member of the Chicago Coalition for the Liberation of Southern Africa (CCAL)); Ted Lockwood and Christine Root (Washington Office on Africa (WOA)); Paul Irish (American Committee on Africa (ACOA)); Melba Smith (Board of Global Ministries, Women's Division, United Methodist Church (UMC)); Vince Klingler (United People's Campaign Against Apartheid and Racism (UPCAAR), Philadelphia); Alan Zaslavsky (Boston Coalition for the Liberation of Southern Africa (BCLSA)); Jim Bristol (Peace Education Project, American Friends Service Committee (AFSC)); Ron ---- (UPCAAR); Paul Pumphrey (Anti-Apartheid Movement-U.S.A. (AAMUSA), Washington). WOA sends out newsletter and legislative updates as well doing as lobbying work. ACOA conducts fund-raising in support of African liberation, produces literature, and sponsors poster contest and bank disinvestment campaign. The UMC Women's Division promotes bank and Krugerrand campaigns. The minutes discuss liberation movements, ACCESS (American Coordinating Committee for Equality in Sport and Society), opposing South African involvement in international sporting events, O Povo Organizado, African Liberation Day, RCP (Revolutionary Communist Party), NBCSA (National Black Coalition on Southern Africa), the Southern Africa Solidarity Committee, ANC (African National Congress), a May Day anti-apartheid demonstration, First National Bank of Boston investments in South Africa, CCLAMG (Chicago Committee for the Liberation of Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau), the Chicago Coalition on Southern Africa, a Soweto demonstration, Chicago banks, President Jimmy Carter, Andrew Young, the Black community, anti-communism, BANAG (Bay Area Namibia Action Group), SASC (Southern Africa Solidarity Committee), Northern California Alliance, divisions in the movement, Black and groups, newsletter and communications, direct action, World Peace Council, SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference), labor groups, political consciousness, Western European powers, the New York Furriers Joint Council, black student groups, church/peace groups, a neo-colonial solution, and the People's Congress against Apartheid (PCA).
