Memorandum written by Vince Klingler of the Coalition to Stop Rhodesian and South African Imports to supporters of African Liberation and peace-loving and justice seeking Americans. Klingler says the struggle in southern Africa is reaching a critical stage; in Rhodesia, the Zimbabwean people are rising up in arms against the white-minority racist regime; in Namibia, the clamor of the people for liberation is forcing South Africa into an ever more desperate position; and in the heart of the monster itself, South Africa, mass demonstrations, rebellion, and general strikes are sweeping the country. The U.S. government is planning how to preserve the racist regimes and its own investments in Southern Africa; the Republican and Democratic nominees for president are united in finding a way to preserve U.S. Interests in Southern Africa. Both party platforms are bankrupt of any recognition of the liberation movements and the right to majority rule in Southern Africa. Individuals and organizations are asked to organize demonstrations when either candidate comes to their towns. Slogans on the memorandum are: JOIN WITH US! DEMONSTRATE AGAINST FORD AND CARTER! END ALL FORMS OF SUPPORT TO SOUTH AFRICA! and FULL SUPPORT TO THE LIBERATION STRUGGLE! The memorandum mentions the civil rights movement, racism, the anti-war movement, the labor movement, the African Solidarity movement, Jimmy Carter, and Gerald Ford.
