Resolutions adopted on February 29, 1976: (A) U.S. RECOGNITION OF ANGOLA, (B) NATION-BUILDING SUPPORT, (C) DISPELLING MYTHS ABOUT MPLA AND THE ANGOLAN SITUATION IN THE U.S., (D) AVERT A UNITED STATES ECONOMIC BOYCOTT OF ANGOLA, (E) ANGOLA GROUP VISITATION / GRANTING OF VISAS BY STATE DEPT., (F) SEEK TO AVERT ALL MILITARY AID TO ZAIRE AND SOUTH AFRICA, (G) BROADEN THS BASIS OF SUPPORT FOR ANGOLA, and (H) GENERAL NATIONAL COORDINATION OF ACTIVITIES OF DELEGATION. The resolutions discuss medical aid, fertilizers and agricultural equipment, tractors, educational aid, the press, pressure on Gulf Oil Company and Boeing, congressional contacts advocating U.S. non-involvement in Angola, U.S.-imposed sanctions, inviting Angolan group to visit U.S., grant visas to Angolans and persons seeking to go to Angola, and legal challenge to State Dept. on granting of visas both to press seeking to go to Angola and to Angolan groups seeking to come to the U.S. [Notes: 1) This document was apparently produced in Cuba. 2) The Angola 26 Delegation was a group of 26 people from the U.S. representing the Amalgamated Meatcutters and Butcher Workers of North America (AFL-CIO), the American Committee on Africa (ACOA - George Houser), the American Friends' Service Committee (AFSC), the Black Economic Research Center, CASA - General Brotherhood of Workers, the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU, NYC), Coalition for a New Foreign Policy, MPLA Solidarity Committee (Barbara Barnes), National Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Movement for African Liberation (NAIMSAL - Anthony Monteiro), National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL - Patricia A. Murray), National Council of Churches (Africa Office), Partido Socialista Puertorriqueño, Prairie Fire Organizing Committee, Third World Coalition/Southwest Workers Federation, U.S. Out of Angola Committee (Prexy Nesbitt), the Chicago Committee for Liberation of Angola, Mozambique and Guine, Venceremos Brigade, the Washington Office on Africa (WOA - Edgar Lockwood), the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), and Youth Against War and Fascism (YAWF). There were representatives of the press from Afro-American Newspapers (Baltimore Afro-American, Bilalian News (two journalists), Black Scholar, Freedomways Magazine, San Francisco Sun-Reporter) and one independent journalist.]
