Several criticisms were made about the last educational event, including the need for better preparation, more clarity about objectives, and being sure to address the question "how can people help in the struggle?" The orientation and direction that the Coalition was discussed, with a list made of issues that need future discussion, including Congressional action to repeal the Byrd amendment, expansion of the stop imports campaign beyond Rhodesian goods, the importance of racism as an issue in the struggle, and the connection between the exploitation and oppression of U.S people and the people of Zimbabwe. There was general agreement that the focus of the Coalition was on the entire liberation struggle in southern Africa. Jerry S. and Simeon W. were designated temporary co-chairpeople of the Coalition, and Mark K. as temporary secretary. Jerry S. will give main presentation at Resistance Dinner on June, 24. The Coalition agreed to give whatever support it could to June 15 meeting to publicize mass death from famine in Ethiopia. July 26 (anniversary of the Cuban revolution) celebration was noted, which will feature support of Chilean people against the recent fascist coup. Picketing of the African Neptune (?) needed on May 31, since it is suspected of carrying Rhodesian goods. Need for expanded work on the waterfront was discussed.
