The leaflet says 340,000 miners are striking in South Africa and Namibia. Strikers are being forced into the mines by mine security personnel at gun point. The National Union of Mineworkers of South Africa is asking for worldwide support of their strike for better wages, safer conditions, and death benefits. The Church Council of Greater Seattle and the American Friends Service Committee are urging support for the miners along with San Francisco and Vancouver B.C. longshoremen and calling on Nedlloyd Lines not to welcome South African cargos in Puget Sound.
