The minutes say SLCAA 4/29 conference is indefinitely postponed. There are no West Coast plans for Khola Mayekiso's tour, but UAW (sponsor) would consider a proposal. Khola could promote the upcoming tour " Bhambatha's children" which NUMSA will have here in the fall. Solly Simelane (ANC observer at UN) will be here 3/21; there will be a 7:30 am march from King Street Station to Shell Oil offices on Harbor Island; at 7pm Polly, Eddie Rye and Anzanga marimba band will be at CAMP. Jerry and 30 other Shell boycott activists met in Washington D.C. at a UAW-sponsored conference. The national Shell Boycott campaign focusses on: 1) selective purchasing agreements by local, state governments, 2) a shareholders' initiative wherein 20% of Shell shareholders would call a special meeting, 3) educationals, and 4) pickets. Celebrity Shell Boycott PSAs are available; in Boston a popular drive-time DJ asked listeners to send in their Shell credit cards. Seattle Shell Boycott campaign meets at CAMP on the first Monday of each month. The minutes also mention the ANC (African National Congress), the UAW (United Auto Workers), and NUMSA (National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa).
