Houser noted that three work-study students from Princeton are assisting with literature this summer - Jeff Richardson and Marsha Bonner, full-time, and Pat Whaley, part-time. The Africa Fund has adding two part-time staff for research and writing: Alfred Sears and Karen Rothmyer. Ray Gould reported that winners have been selected in the poster competition, and many groups want to exhibit the posters; currently, a show of about 60 posters was being held at the UN. Prexy Nesbitt called attention to the new brochure for the bank campaign, and many people are working on the campaign. ACOA is taking the campaign further by calling for withdrawal. Many churches have money in the banks involved in South Africa loans and their support will hopefully lead to withdrawals in the millions. Tim Smith noted that even David Rockefeller now had said that loans to South Africa would be limited to certain purposes, implying that lenders are not using purely economic criteria. Peter Weiss asked about protests of white South Africans coming to play at the Louis Armstrong stadium in the U.S. Tennis Open; Gould reported that protests will be organized be a new coalition called ACCESS (American Coordinating Committee for Equality in Sport and Society), of which ACOA is a member. Houser reported that Mrs. E.C. Wilson had left ACOA a large bequest. Houser welcomed Martti Ahtisaari, UN Commissioner for Namibia, just back from the Maputo Conference; he gave an off-the-record report of his view of the current international situation, particularly in relation to Namibia. Houser discussed ACOA's previous practice of not setting up local ACOA chapters. The minutes discuss outreach, Citibank, the YWCA, the UN Centre Against Apartheid, the Interfaith Committee for Corporate Responsibility (ICCR), District 1199 of the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees, District 65 and the Amalgamated Meat Cutters, working toward withdrawing their pension and welfare funds, Ted Lockwood, Export-Import Bank guarantees, U.S. Trust, Larry Henderson, Goler Butcher, the Africa division of USAID, Mike Davis, Jay Jacobson, Paul Irish, Elombe Brath, William Booth, Robert Browne, Dorothy Hibbert, Janet Hooper, Leonard Jeffries, David Lampel, Elizabeth Landis, Gail Morlan, Andrew Norman, Robert van Lierop, Marvin Rich, Bernard Mugande, a South Africa Information Packet, banks and South Africa, Andy Norman, David Robinson, Annette Hutchins-Felder, Lillian Roberts, Marshal Brown, Frederick Schwarz, and William Johnston.
