The petition says:" We, the undersigned, students, faculty, administrators and friends of the University of Hawaii in recognition of divestment by over 112 leading American Universities, urge President Simone and the Board of Regents to publicly oppose the policy of apartheid with its concrete manifestations of oppression and suffering for South African blacks and to disinvest all University investments in companies doing business in South Africa."
