Committee to Stop the Krugerrand in A&S
New York, New York, United States
December 1976
1 page
Leaflet passed out at a protest against the sale of Krugerrand South African gold coins at Abraham and Strauss (A&S). The coin, sometimes made into jewelry, was advertised by A&S. The campaign included local Brooklyn groups, the American Committee on Africa (ACOA) and WLIB, a black radio station that urged listeners not to buy the coins. The A&S department store quickly agreed to stop advertising Krugerrand jewelry and to halt all further purchases. This leaflet was produced by ACOA.
