Dr. Farisani has long spoken out against the injustices of apartheid and has been a target of harassment by the authorities. He has been detained four times without charge or trial and has been tortured. Dr. Farisani is author of several books, including "Diary From a South African Prison." The offering will go to the Devhula Diaconate Fund and the Ecumenical Confessing Fellowship, both in South Africa.
