Program of the National Student Anti-Apartheid Strategy Session held at the Community Church of New York on June 28, 1986. The program includes Greetings by the American Committee on Africa (ACOA) and a talk Crisis in Southern Africa by David Ndaba. The session Racism and the Anti-Apartheid Movement with points to discuss include success in linking anti-apartheid work to demands against institutional racism, Problems and Progress in coalition-building, Third World leadership and involvement, and link between racism and U.S. foreign policy. The session Planning Coordinated Action including a) Importance of cooperation b) Consideration of ACOA proposal for Coordinated Fall Action i) Oct 10: Political Prisoners Day/Protest Against U.S. Investment ii) October 11th Day of Activities focused on Namibia Adeyemi Bandele: c) Relation of student organizing to Call to Conscience (Natl Bl Unit Ft) d) Coordinated campaigns targeting trustees linked to companies involved in South Africa (MSU) and General Research (Harvard) e) improving communication/Strengthening city-wide and regional coordination f) next year's week of action (March21-April 6, 1987. The session Organizing Beyond the Campus includes a) How students can support sanctions legislation b) Product Boycotts (Coke Shell, other products) and Targeting the Ports c) Opposing U.S. Regional Policy and Supporting the Liberation Movements of Namibia Politically and Materially. People on the program include Danisa Baloyi of Columbia University; Marty Ellington of the DC Student Coalition Against Apartheid and Racism (DC SCAR); Lemoin Werlington-Jean of the University of Wisconsin/Madison; Damu Smith of the Washington Office on Africa (WOA); and Prexy Nesbitt of the Coalition for Illinois Divestment from South Africa (CIDSA). The program discusses Michigan State University (MSU), Atlanta SCAAR, Purdue University, and DSA (Democratic Socialists of America).
