Contents: SOUTH AFRICAN MILITARY/POLICE ATTACK NAMIBIAN WORKERS • The newsletter reports that, in the pre-dawn hours of July 3, South African army and police attacked the single men's hostel at the fishing port town of Luderitz in the south of the country. The Namibia Communications Centre in London reports that the workers' compound was overrun by soldiers and police using clubs, whips, and guns with rubber bullets to drive the workers from their shacks. The workers' money, cameras, tape recorders, sewing machines, and other valuables were looted. Townspeople gathered at the scene and were dispersed by tear gas and rubber bullets.
