The program includes an advertisement for South Africa "Minnesota Connection" on Sunday, August 24th, 1980 at the Modern Time's Cafe. The program includes a notice that there will be an orientation meeting for new members on August 31. The program says on August 9th, 1956 over 200,000 women marched in Pretoria, South Africa, to protest laws requiring black women to carry passbook I.D. cards or be subject to arrest. Speakers on the program include Emcee Candy Kirksey (TCCLSA); Naomi Jaffee (TCCLSA); Betty Mtero, resident of Fort Victoria, Zimbabwe and a member of Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU); Janice Dorliac (TCCLSA member and Northside resident; and Barbara Masekela, Chairperson of the New York Branch of the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa. The program includes Poems of Resistance and Women in the Struggle. The program says there will be songs by Cedric Watkins (TCCLSA)and Pressure Drop-members: Brendan Coleman, Millie Hurley, Jeff Nygaard. Names on the program include Lori Hanson, Lee Hoover, Mary Ellen Kaluza, Sara Olson, Jerri Alexander, Rose Harmon, Jarwhar Hill, Mazie Johnson, and Tiffany Patterson. The program discusses the Soweto rebellion of 1976, Arthur McDuffie, the Ku Klux Klan, police, liberation movements, the U.S. government, U.S. corporations, Nelson Mandela, armed struggle, and workers' strikes.
