The mailing says the president of the striking union called late last week to tell us the following: the strike is still spreading and may get even larger; 100 miners had already been arrested; 140 miners have been injured and police forces are now becoming increasingly violent; that union funds are running out and they have not enough money to travel from site to site to hold necessary meetings in order to keep the strike together.
