The program includes a poem MANDELA by Catherine Barnes. People on the program include Van Elliott Williams, Co-Founder, Friends of SOMAFCO; Dr. Molefi Asante, Chairperson, African American Studies, Temple University; Godfrey Sithole, Representative, African National Congress; Bernie Dunkin, Labor Against Apartheid; Jerry Herman, A.F.S.C.-Southern Africa Program; Tony Monteiro, Sociologist - Temple Univ.; Catherine Blunt, Chairperson, M.L.K. Anti-Apartheid Coalition; and Dr. Clement T. Keto, Department African American Studies. The program says there will be a video tape presentation. The program discusses the African National Congress (ANC),Winnie and Nelson Mandela, the Treason Trial of 1956-60, the Transkei region, the ANC Youth League, the Defiance Campaign, AFSC (American Friends Service Committee), and the Solomon Mahlangu Freedom College (SOMAFCO). [Note: According to a leaflet advertising this event it was sponsored by the Department of African and African-American Studies (Temple University), Friends of SOMAFCO, the Institute of African and African-American Affairs, the Martin Luther Ling Anti-Apartheid Coalition, and Call to Conscience.)
