The memorandum says Barrie Thorne, Bill Derman, Ken Harrow and David Dwyer met and discussed the TIAA-CREF divestment campaign, shanty building, MSU Foundation sit-ins, Bill Derman's meeting with Malcom Dade, Trustee candidate's public statement on Foundation divestment, and the effect of GM and IBM "divestments" on the pension fund bills including the positions on this issue of CARAC, SALC, the American Committee on Africa (ACOA), and Washington Office on Africa (WOA). CARAC members are invited to a meeting with other campus groups on October 28 at the United Methodist Church (Peace Educ. Center) to discuss erecting shanties in front of the Michigan State University Administration Building and sit-ins in the MSU Foundation offices. The memorandum discusses Clifton Wharton, the Academic Council, Rev. Jon Lacey, candidates for Trustees, Barbara Sawyer, Joel Ferguson, Cy Gregoricka, Chris Root, State Democratic Research Bureau, General Motors (GM), IBM, Coke (Coca-Cola), the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), apartheid, disinvesting, and Bishop Desmond Tutu.
