The mailing explains that, on January 23, 1981, the Michigan State University (MSU) Board of Trustees approved naming the Festival Stage of the Wharton Performing Arts Center located on the campus of MSU after Margaret E. McGoff who, with her husband John McGoff, have been long known for their active public support of the racist, apartheid minority government of South Africa. The mailing urges people to sign a resolution that (1) asks the Board of Trustees to remove the McGoff name from the Festival Stage of the Wharton Performing Arts Center and (2) says that, until the name is removed, your organization will refrain from scheduling events on the Festival Stage.
