Copy of a letter to Robert Brown, Jr., Director of the Michigan Department of Corrections, responding to his reply regarding a call that the Department should end its purchases of goods imported from the Republic of South Africa. The letter includes a copy of a fruit cocktail can label clearly identifying it as a product of the Republic of South Africa. The letter affirms Brown's request of the Purchasing Division of the Department of Management and Budget to establish guidelines on purchasing products that may be imported from South Africa. Copies of the letter were sent to Michigan Governor James Blanchard, Carl L. Breeding of the NAACP, and Honorable Jackie Vaughn, III.
