The mailing reports that South African security police in Namibia are holding a British citizen, Richard Alun Roberts, incommunicado, in prison in Windhoek. He was detained on February 29 as he left a Windhoek magistrate's court, after charges of having stolen a vehicle were dropped. Roberts is detained under terms of AG 9, one of the proclamations of Pretoria's administrator-general in Namibia. Roberts is a well-known writer on Namibia; he authored THE ROSSING FILE, a study of Namibia's Rossing uranium mine, which is controlled by the British firm Rio Tinto-Zinc. He was researcher for the film "Yellowcake Road" about Namibia's uranium and its shipment to and processing and sale in Europe....
