Proposal for a 4-1/2 month campaign to Stop Apartheid's Violence by the Southern Africa Committee of the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights. The campaign would begin with the showing on February 3, 1993 of "STOP THE VIOLENCE!," a short film produced by the Africa Fund Office - the third film in MCHR's film/lecture series. It will culminate with a SOWETO DAY WALK-ATHON in June 1993. An objective of the campaign is to significantly increase awareness in the metropolitan Detroit community about the violence of apartheid in South Africa, to educate about the true causes of the violence, and to dispel the myth of black-on-black violence.
