Brochure advertising the "United Nations Seminar on the Role of Transnational Corporations in South Africa and Namibia" in the Detroit City Council auditorium on Michigan 11 and June 12, 1981. The UN Division for Economic and Social Information of the Department of Public Information is organizing this seminar in cooperation with the Center Against Apartheid and the Centre on Transnational Corporations. This is the third in the series of international symposia by the United Nations to educate the public in the home countries of transnationals on the activities of those corporations in Southern Africa. The first two seminars were held in London and the Hague in October 1980. Speakers on the agenda include Arthur Johnson, Vice President, Wayne State University and Mark Stepp, Vice President, United Auto Workers (UAW). The brochure agenda includes sessions on economic and strategic significance of the US automobile industry in South Africa under apartheid, employment Practices of US auto industry in South Africa, and national and international policy options. The brochure discusses Nadia Younes, action taken by governments, intergovernmental organizations, church groups, labor unions, and NGOs.
