Leaflet advertising a demonstration at the annual stockholders meeting of Foote Mineral Company annual stockholders meeting in Philadelphia on April 7, 1972 protesting the company's importation of chrome from Rhodesia. The leaflet says about a month ago Foote Mineral Company off-loaded 25,000 tons of Rhodesian chrome at Burnside, La. The leaflet says shotgun-toting sheriff's deputies protected the shipment from 300 black demonstrators; a striking parallel to conditions inside Rhodesia. The leaflet says Foote has violated international law by breaking United Nations sanctions against Rhodesia; it is help1ng a white minority (5%) strengthen its regime of racial supremacy over the black majority (95%). Portugal, South Africa, and now the U.S. are the one countries openly trading with Rhodesia. The leaflet includes quotes by Senator Edward Kennedy; Bishop Abel Muzorewa, head of the African National Council; and John Donahey, Foote spokesman, quoted in the Baltimore Sunday Sun. The leaflet includes a quote from the New York Times.
