The mailing says 13 members or supporters of the South African Students Organization (SASO) and the Black People's Convention (BPC) will face trial under the Terrorism Act in Pretoria on May 21, 1975; most have been held incommunicado since September 25, 1974, when several dozen men and women were arrested at a large, peaceful demonstration in Durban celebrating FRELIMO and independence in neighboring Mozambique. The mailing says SASO and the BPC are foremost elements of the Black Consciousness movement, and both have suffered heavily from police and other official harassment and from recurring arrests of their leaders. The mailing says the accused are Absolom Zitulele Cindi, Sathasivan Cooper, Rubin Hare, Sulayman Ahmed Ismail, Mosioua Gerard Patrick Lekota, Maitshe Nchaupe Aubrey Mokoape, Sivalingam Moodley, Strinivasa Rajoo Moodley, Justice Edward Lindane ("Muntu") Myeza, Pandelani Jeremiah Netolovhodwe, Nkwenkwe Vincent Nkomo, Gilbert Kaborane ("Kaunda") Sedibe, and Sadecque Variava. The mailing discusses "Umthwalo Unzima" ("The Burden Is Heavy"), Advocate David Soggott, the security police, and torture.
