Namibia was occupied by a foreign power (Germany) for over a century, and today South Africa has imposed its apartheid system of legalized racism. It discusses Namibia's war of liberation spearheaded by SWAPO (Southwest Africa People's Organization), which is recognized by the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity (OAU) as the only legitimate representative of the Namibian people. More than 60,000 refugees have had to flee to neighboring countries such as Angola and Zambia. The leaflet describes Namibia as a vast reservoir of mineral wealth, particularly in diamonds and uranium; a British firm, Rossing, Ltd., recently built the largest uranium mine in the world in Namibia. The leaflet says two American mining companies, Newmont and American Metal Climax, have sizable holdings in Namibia.
