The mailing honors Bishop Ambrose Reeves on his 80th birthday. Reeves was the chief pastor of the Diocese of Johannesburg for a decade, and at the time of the Sharpeville Massacre in 1960 he persisted in bringing this event to the attention of the world. Bishop Reeves is honorary president of the British Anti-Apartheid Movement, and in his retirement he is attached to the parish of St Mary de Haura in the southern English town of Shoreham-by-Sea. The mailing reports that Dr. Sydney V. Kibby, an old friend of ECSA's and of Africa, died on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 96-plus. The mailing asks people to send messages to Helen Kibby, his widow.
