Copy of a letter to the Director of the World Boxing Association calling for cancellation of the scheduled competition between the U.S. World Boxing Organization Welterweight Champion Manning Galloway and South African Boxer Nica Khumalo, scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 1990 at the Central Maine Civic Center, a privately owned facility. The letter says this competition violates the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 35/206E calling for the suspension of cultural, academic and sporting contacts in South Africa or against South Africans as long as apartheid remains in place. The appeal to cancel the match is made on behalf of the South African Boxing Council.
