This fundraising mailing for the International Defense and Aid Find for Southern Africa (IDAF) discusses the unprecedented avalanche of detentions and trials that have overwhelmed the organization over the last four years. The IDAF appeals have focused primarily on defense of prisoners, but aiding their families also is a vital task. During 1987, IDAF provided regular, long-term humanitarian aid for 2,190 families and individuals in South Africa and Namibia. By the end of 1988, we expect to have added another 150 families.
