Leaflet used for picketing at Plymouth Congregational Church in Seattle because its general endowment fund still holds over $350,000 of investments in companies doing business in South Africa. Despite a divestment campaign at the church for over a year, many members of the congregation may still not realize the seriousness of the situation in South Africa and the extent of Plymouth's complicity with apartheid. Addressing this is the purpose of the informational picketing of a business meeting of the Church. The leaflet says IBM, Coca-Cola and Exxon (in which Plymouth holds stocks), despite what their public relations departments say, are not out of South Africa. Some stocks were divested in February, but additional shares of Coca-Cola and Exxon were purchased. A new committee on investment policy and social responsibility has been appointed. The leaflet aims to emphasize the urgency of the situation in South Africa and of divesting. The contact person is Marjorie Prince, a member of the church.
