Leaflet advertising a demonstration at the South African Consulate (home of South African Honorary Counsel Joseph Swing) on December 8, 1985. The leaflet discusses the ANC (African National Congress), the United Democratic Front (UDF), and a wave of popular resistance. The leaflet says internationally sanctions and divestments are making a dent in the South African economy and the value of the rand has continuously dropped. The leaflet says December 9th marks a yearlong effort to close the South African Consulate in Seattle and force the City of Seattle to divest fully from the apartheid system by removing its employees pension fund from financial involvement in South Africa.
