The mailing says the International Campaign Against Racism in Sport (ICARIS) condemns the proposed boxing match between the South African boxer, Kallie Knoetze, and Bill Sharkey on January 13 at Miami's Convention Hall. It calls for protests directed to the organizer David A. (Sonny) Werblin, Chairman of Madison Square Garden, and to Mr. John Bache, President of CBS Television. The mailing also asks people to write to President Jimmy Carter urging that Kallie Knoetze be denied a work visa on the grounds that he is a convicted felon. People are asked to demonstrate at the event should it go on. The mailing says to contact ICARIS for more information and also to contact Operation Push.
