The Southern Africa Solidarity Committee (S.A.S.C.) formed in Seattle over the summer of 1979. S.A.S.C. is anti-imperialist group aiming to build the Southern Africa solidarity movement to end all U.S. involvement in Southern Africa. S.A.S.C.'s major focus has been the Zimbabwe Action Campaign. Z.A.C. was formed in September 1979 when a number of Southern Africa solidarity organizations met in a conference to discuss the situation in Southern Africa and the critical role of the struggle in Zimbabwe. Through joint work in several cities (Seattle, Eugene, Fresno, San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, and Boston) we hope to have greater impact on U.S. policy and educational work about Zimbabwe....
