Petition to The Honorable Abraham G. Gerges, Chairman, Governmental Operations Committee urging him to reintroduce a strengthened selective contracting bill (formerly called Intro 1137). The petition says while we the undersigned celebrate the release of Nelson Mandela, further economic pressure must be intensified to abolish apartheid. The petition says this bill will put our city's policies behind its principles and advance the final campaign for a united, non-racial democracy in South Africa.
