The newsletter reports that Afonso Dhlakama, leader of the Mozambican National Resistance (Renamo), will visit Washington soon for the first time, at a delicate stage of the peace process in Mozambique. He also will be meet with United Nations officials in New York, Dhlakama will be hosted at meetings by the Heritage Foundation and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and will meet with members of Congress and officials in the administration. The newsletter discusses the State Department, UNICEF, Jonas Savimbi, Unita, Frelimo, troops, and assembly areas.
