Leaflet with the text of a press release announcing an anti-apartheid rally and demonstration at the Michigan State University (MSU) administration building on June 6, 1981 to protest the MSU Foundation's position on divestment. The press release says the State of Michigan, under Republican Governor Milliken, in 1983 passed a law that prohibited public educational institutions from investing in companies that do business with South Africa and that Michigan State University divested from companies that do business in South Africa in 1978. The press release says the MSU Foundation, however, refuses to comply with state law, with steps taken by the MSU Board of Trustees, with requests from SALC (Southern Africa Liberation Committee), CARAC (Coalition Against Racism and Apartheid on Campus), and ASMSU; it continues to retain its $500,000 of investment in companies doing business in South Africa. The leaflet says contact Deb Miller, Terri Culpert, Sylvia Bagge, Erik Rikkerink or Kgati Sathekge.
