The mailing supports an increase in aid for Namibia. It points out that the State Department has requested only $500,000 for Namibia in fiscal year 1990, compared to $300 million which was immediately available to the emerging democracies in Eastern Europe last fall. The mailing says efforts are underway in the Africa Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee to increase funding level; it is critical that people contact their Congressional Representative and Senators to urge their support for increased aid to Namibia. The mailing discusses the U.S. Agency for International Development.
