This Action Alert asks people to urge the House of Representatives to act before the end of the session on legislation already adopted by the Senate (S. 1868) to end U.S. imports of strategic minerals, such as chrome, from Rhodesia, in violation of United Nations sanctions. The alert reports on lobbying against this measure by the Rhodesian Information Office and the stainless steel industry. The document also publicizes the CIC Brief, "Tourism to Rhodesia - Breaking Sanctions," by the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility. [Note: This CIC Brief is available on this website.]
