Testimony of Phil Hutchins, National Program Secretary for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), at the United Nations. Hutchins says SNCC is dedicated to the struggle against racism, capitalism and imperialism. He says that James Forman, SNCC Deputy Chairman of International Affairs, attended the International Seminar on Racism, Colonialism and Apartheid in Southern Africa held in Kitwe, Zambia in 1967 and later delivered a SNCC position paper at the United Nations on the role of the U.S. government regarding apartheid. Hutchins discusses the sugar quota and the unholy alliance of U.S. private enterprises, such as General Motors and the Chase Manhattan Bank (owned by the Rockefeller family), with the apartheid government. He notes that, on March 29, South African Airlines will launch a campaign from John F. Kennedy Airport to solicit White American tourist trade to South Africa, and that Holiday Inns plans to have 12 inns in Southern Africa soon. The testimony discusses Portugal's plan to prepare a hydro-electronic project in the region of Cabora-Bassa in Tete Province of Mozambique. The testimony says that SNCC hopes that the United Nations will see fit to expose racism not only in South Africa but also the United States, the capital of the Western World.
