This letter reached out to people who might want to receive information from and participate with the Washington Office on Africa in campaigns to influence U.S. policy towards Southern Africa. A form was provided to indicate interest and contact information. The letter quotes from a poem by Mozambican nationalist Noemia de Sousa about a strike in1947: "Who can carry off the multitude and lock it in a cage?" A hand-written note mentions Paul Irish, a staff member of the American Committee on Africa.
